Concertverslag Vanslag by Klaas Jan Guchelaar
With the Mastersons in January I had a careful start of the new concert-season, but February will kick it off for real and to get a good start, the Blues Avenue Revisited started off the month in style: Blues in Vanslag!
Hailing from the north of the Netherlands (Drenthe is after all the home of the blues), Blues Avenue Revisited is a strong group in a tight formation. Taking on Jacco Siegers as lead singer and guitarist in the band, Blues Avenue became Blues Avenue Revisited. They kicked of with Bullfrog Blues by one of my all time heroes Rory Gallager and played a great two sets of all time great from blues. The great legends passed, but also modern blues rockers. With a solid rhythm unit on bass an drums the two guitarist had all the room to excel. A terrific evening with loads of blues. The concert season is open again and if this start is to be an indication it’s going to be a good one!
